Red-breasted Nuthatch

These are common in the forests near Lilliwaup, WA. Though, they spend most of their time high in the canopy. This one came down to a slightly lower limb just for a few moments.

White-breasted Nuthatch

April 2012 – Tualatin National Wildlife Refuge, Oregon

This White-breasted Nuthatch was gathering nesting materials (mostly bits of lichen it seems) just above the Tualatin River.
