| Photography by Jonathan Ley | The Olympic Mountains | Mt. Townsend

Mt. Townsend is located in the northeast part of the Olympic Mountain range in Washington State. The trail to the top steadily climbs about 3 miles. Near the top of Mt. Townsend, a side trail splits-off, leading ~2.5 miles to Silver Lake.
This trail melts-out rather early, u

sually by early June. The flowers peak in July, but are pretty good in June. This can be a popular hike in the early season. The upper trailhead is generally better. You'll need a NW forest pass to park at the trailhead.
