| Photography by Jonathan Ley | Oregon Cascades | Rogue-Umpqua Divide

The Rogue-Umpqua Divide is my name for the area just to the west and north of Crater Lake National Park. The headwaters of these two great Oregon rivers - the Rogue River and Umpqua River - are in this area.

This area can be visited throughout the year, but be prepared for snow in the winter, along with some possible road closures. Keep in mind that the north entrance to Crater Lake National Park is closed in winter... which sometimes lasts until late June! The south entrance is kept open year-round.
