Mask Temple of Lamanai Lamanai
Lamanai is a Mayan ruin on a lagoon connected to the New River in eastern Belize. Lamanai has been partially restored and opened to the public only very recently.

Caracol Wall Caracol
Caracol is a Mayan site deep in the western hills of Belize. In its prime, it was a major Mayan center. In modern times, it was only rediscovered in the 1930s. The site has been partially restored, and features the largest (by volume) Mayan temple anywhere.

The Macal River flows from the highlands of western Belize to the town of San Ignacio, through long stretches of wild Central American jungle.
