Hoop Dreams
A really neat documentary. Especially since I was going to Marquette at the same time part of this movie was filmed. . I thought it was a very real portrayal of an interesting subculture – which is what many good documentaries are. I remember that people thought this got snubbed at the Oscars. I have to ask, how many people actually saw the movie that won? Sure Hoop Dreams was good, but how do you know it was “the best” unless you’ve seen all the competition? It’s simply a documentary that many people saw. There are a lot of decent documentaries out there.
Grey Gardens

God Grew Tired of Us
Everyone should see this movie. It is raw inspiration. Don’t just appreciate what you have, use it to the fullest.
The Eyes of Tammy Faye
What a gem… This movie may actually make you feel sorry for Tammy Faye Bakker… or at least sympathize with her. After all, behind all that makeup is a real person. There is another side to every story, even if both sides are totally warped.
The Endurance
A bunch of hardy polar explorers get in a wee bit of a tough spot, but manage to work things out (after they eat their dogs and such). We’re such wimps now-a-days.
