Nearly perverted & nearly freaky… I was actually quite happy that the movie didn’t end with a bloodbath. Strange how a mellow ending can be a surprise ending. I really liked the set they created for the Walmart-lookalike store though, almost more like a medical lab. One thing though, I thought the photos the woman took were too well-done for her character – they were obviously done by a professional photographer, who was probably too proud to take mediocore photos… or just didn’t think of it.
One of those caper movies with a plot that twists around and around – trust nobody, etc, etc, etc… Do I sound jaded? Why do I continue to see movies? Perhaps it’s because even when I’ve seen the formula before, it’s still worth seeing again. This one is worth seeing, but not worth ignoring your children over… go read them a book instead.
Based on the one-line reviews I’d read and the previews I’d seen, I thought this would be your typical hack & slash, overblown, poorly acted thriller. It was much better than I expected. The plot was intelligently thought-out and executed. In the end it was much like “Bravehart goes to Rome”. That’s not a bad thing though – if you liked Bravehart, you’ll probably like this movie.
