This movie is a close runner-up to worst movie ever. There are so many ridiculous things in this movie that It’s difficult to start listing them. Maybe if I had more energy, and a masochistic attitude, I’d devote more time to writing about how horrible it was.

Blade Runner
I finally just saw this 1 week ago (January 2000). I don’t know how I missed it all these years. It was very stylish and had a decent story (although finding the replicants was a little too easy). It was only average until the very end though. The replicant turns out to be more humane than the humans. It made the movie more than just another sci-fi thriller.
Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi
By the time this came out, I was 13 and much more “aware” so to speak. It still totally blew me away. Thanks George!
Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back
My 10-year-old mind could barely keep up with this movie. I just remember standing in line at Woodfield mall in Schaumburg, IL to go see it when it first came out. The line wrapped all the way around the theater. The movie itself was just like a blur – candy for my overactive imagination.
Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope
What can I say? The ultimate classic movie. I was 7 when it came out – the perfect age. This movie probably changed my life, it told me that dreaming and imagining were not only OK, but wonderful.
Raiders of the Lost Ark
When I first saw this movie, I had no idea what it was about beforehand. Wow. It was so cool, I just couldn’t believe it! Of course, I was only like 13 years old. But even now, this is a damn cool movie. Spielberg proves his legend with this one…
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
I guess it was good, but it was essentially the same thing as Raiders of the lost ark. I’ll have to say that the Monty Python troupe had a lot more fun looking for the holy grrrrail.
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
I have a theory that Spielberg intended to make this a really bad movie. He’s a smart guy with a proven track record. There is no reason he would resort to such stupid scenes and plot devices that are sprinkled throughout this movie. The pacing makes no sense – it just jumps from scene to scene, etc. There are so many things wrong with this movie from start to finish… But, why would he do this? Perhaps it’s because he really did want to emulate the original inspiration for the series – the movie reels – which weren’t very good either. Or, perhaps he wanted to kill the series himself, and not let it turn into some kind of long-running james bond thing. Or, perhaps he’s just screwing with everyone. I’m more and more convinced this wasn’t just a mistake.
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
Although it was the weakest of the series (especially with that annoying little kid), it was in a sense the most true to the original concept – a serialized thrill-seeking, adventure movie… with a little campiness thrown in like icing on the cake.
The Fugative
Intelligently written. That probably enough of a reason to see this. So few movies have even that much going for them.
