I just finished watching this about 15 minutes ago. It’s always nice to write about a movie that’s still fresh in my mind. I found this to be a very positive and optimistic movie. No, I’m not kidding. In the end, there was beauty in everything, you just have to look for it. Even things that are outwardly horrible or wrong or disgusting can be beautiful if seen in the right light. When you discover this, you achieve a real sense of inner peace. Anyway, that’s what the movie meant to me.

Superman Returns
But from where? This was like half a movie searching for a plot. It was fun to watch at times, but it didn’t really seem that the characters believed in the idea. Also, once again, a character does something really stupid (bringing your son along on a tresspass?) to move the plot along.
Se7en
I never really can get into “lunatic” movies because they always make these people out to be geniuses, when they never really would be. Go see “Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer” if you want to see a good lunatic movie.
Oh, and that title? very clever with the 7 instead of the V. Very very clever.
Pay it Forward
Sure, it’s a feel-good movie with a difficult to believe premise, but I liked it because it didn’t slide into the realm of ridiculousness. It wasn’t really as much about the “pay it forward” concept as it was a love story. There were a few eye-rolling bits though – the suicide on the bridge scene & the ending… but that’s forgivable. It would have been so easy to have made this a really silly movie… which is what I expected, but didn’t find.
L.A. Confidental
Interesting, but kind of a shoulder shrugger for me.
K-Pax
I’m not going to attempt to guess whether K-Pax was really an alien or not, I’m willing to admit that I just don’t know. Whatever you think, this was an entertaining piece of work. One thing I didn’t get though, did the Jeff Bridges character really need to fly to New Mexico to learn about Prot? He could have just called.
