With movies like this, I almost don’t care what happens. It’s just a joy to watch each scene unfold. It’s probably been 2 years since I watched this, but I can still see that model climbing the mountain. I can still see Gustav (Ralph Fiennes) sitting on that train, thinking. I can still see the hallways… the carpeting… just the feel of the place. Sure, the plot didn’t make a whole lot of sense, but that was exactly the secret sauce.

The Constant Gardner
One of those rare movies that starts out dull, but gets better and better along the way. By the end, you’re thinking – gosh, that was a great movie. Seems there has been a rash of bloody African movies lately – what’s that about?
Strange Days
I thought this was a really cool movie. Juliette Lewis in her heyday… In any case, I was always sad that this movie didn’t “do” as well as it should have. I can’t really pick out any single thing that impressed me with the movie. Maybe they just did a good job showing how the “invention” integrated itself into society, and how it became a problem for the obsessed.
Maid in Manhattan
Just read the plot summary on the jacket of the DVD, you’ll save yourself 2 hours of completely predictable and totally absurd “plot”. On second thought, even reading the jacket is a waste of time.
The English Patient
A seriously boring movie. Nothing frickin happens. Who cares?
