What is Phlumf? Phlumf
is that snow that piles up on trees. It's that simple.
About the origin of the
word When the phlumf reaches a critical mass, is blown by the wind or
is melted by the sun it falls and makes a sound like "phlumf"
About the spelling
The sound phlumf makes has a definate "ph" sound in the begining. Some people
have suggested that the "ph" should be at the end of the word. While I
understand this arguement, the word "flumph" already has a meaning - it is a
monster in the role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons. As for "phlumph",
well, that would just be silly.
Phlumf usage Man,
there sure is a lot of phlumf out there today. (note, to say "...there
is phlumf on the trees..." would be redundant, although acceptable to give
definition by context.) Dude! that guy just got phlumfed. Joe and
Randy were concerned, it was now phlumfing heavily and they were
becoming cold and wet.
