Some people were trying to ski down the snowfield, but were having a tough time due to the icy snow drifts. The drifts on this photo were about 1-2 feet high.
At one point during our descent, we were completely shrouded in a thick cloud with no point of reference - everything was just white - it was hard to determine exactly where the surface of the snow was. It was a bizarre feeling. It would have been easy to get lost if it wasn't for faint footprints in the snow.
