We camped in the area just below the peak... near where this photo was taken. It's about 7 miles from the nearest trailhead.
On top of Pyramid peak, we met a young Russian man, in his mid-twenties. I asked him why of all the places to go in the world he was here. "Because it's the best", he replied.
