The snow levels on Mt. Rainier were very low. Apparently, there is only 60% of the average snowpack for this time of year. After seeing it for myself, I'd say that's a high estimate. Of course, even a low snowpack on Mt. Rainier is a lot of snow... but the glaciers need even more to stay healthy.
