A number of unmarked side trails head off the main route toward Mt. Rainier, and other destinations. I left the trailhead before dawn, and basically had the entire area to myself for a couple hours. Then, a steady flood of hikers started arriving... Unfortunately for them clouds also rolled-in, obscuring the views of Mt. Rainier.
