These birds were introduced to the UK a long time ago. They look a bit mutty to me, but I suppose the look is unique at least.

A number of these were congregating near the ponds in Hyde Park.
Not the prettiest Snow Goose, but there it was… a solo representative wandering amongst other species of geese.
A few of these were hanging out at Fernhill.

These are often mistaken for the closely related Canada Goose (which in-turn are often mistakenly called Canadian Geese). They’re shorter and stockier than the Canada, but often will mix together with their larger brethern.

Our most common goose… Not much to say about this bird, or this photo, but notice the pair of wood ducks in the background – kind of a neat “photo bomb”, eh?
