Above Öxarfjörður
Our route took us through the hills above Öxarfjörður - a large fjord to the west. We passed through a few lonely farms, but we saw no people - only grazing sheep, and the ever-present birds. We didn't have very detailed maps of this area, but it didn't seem to matter much. As long as we kept heading generally south, we were in pretty good shape. There were cliffs along some of the hills though, and it would have been helpful to know in advance where they were. Still, we managed pretty good progress. The clear skies continued for much of the day, which made our job a little easier... and pleasant.
