Stanley Lake is located about 10 miles from Stanley, Idaho, at the base of Idaho's Sawtooth Mountains. This is a sparsely populated and beautiful part of the mountain west.
The town of Custer, Idaho is now a ghost town. The mine closed in the mid 1900s. All that remains now are a cluster of old weathered buildins, rusting mining equipment, a mill, and thousands of tons of polluted tailings. Some legacy.
