Inside Botni
The Botni hut was one of a series of huts built and maintained by the Akureyri Mountain Club. It was open for public use provided there was space available. They asked for a 1200 Kronur payment on the honor system. The foam mattresses were exactly what we needed to refresh and rejuvenate. I didn't realize how sore my shoulders had gotten until I took off my pack and sat down for a while. Nobody had signed the guestbook at the hut for a few days (and that had been a group of Icelanders riding 4x4's), so we figured we wouldn't be catching up to anyone anytime soon.
