The Pass
As we climbed up, the weather started to deteriorate. We were met by regular sheets of cold rain, then sleet every 15 minutes or so. The wind was so strong that even in this cold our clothes dried in moments. However, our feet stayed wet as we had to cross fields of snow and a number of bone-chilling streams. This area was just between the giant glaciers of Tungnafellsjökull and Vatnajökull. Vatnajökull was so massive that winds from the south were noticeably chilled by passing over it.
