Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge is located on the banks of the Columbia River just north of Vancouver, WA. It's a large area of intact wetlands and lowland forests.

Siouxon Creek (pronounced Soo-Shawn) is located just south of Mt. St. Helens in the south part of Washington State.

Mt. Mitchell is located just south and east of the town of Cougar, WA, in southwest Washington State.

Mt. St. Helens is located in southwest Washington State, just to the west of the Cascade Crest. Roads access the blast zone from the west (Johnston Ridge / Toutle River) and the east (Windy Ridge), but the roads do not meet. Another road leads to the area south of the mountain where you'll find other interesting areas like the lava tubes of Ape Cave.

Silver Star Mountain is a prominent peak in the foothills of the south Washington Cascades, just northeast of Vancouver, Washington. A network of trails leads hikers on explorations of forests and open hillsides with views to volcanoes beyond.
