There are a series of huts in this area, and each is accessible by a 4wd track. Some enterprising tour operators offer "slack pack" packages. So, you only have to carry a small day pack, while all your stuff is trucked from hut to hut. We found it somewhat amusing that people could think they needed so much crap. And they didn't even need tents - these people were staying in the hut. Still, our arrogant "simplicity is king" attitudes were sprinkled with just a touch of jealousy. Maybe it'd be nice to have a guitar and a bottle of rum...
